# Comparing Setfiles

The diff function allows two setfile VERSIONS to be easily compared

Setfiles are compared based on a chosen version, which allows you to compare two different versions of the same setfile, or versions from different setfiles.

The diff uses exact match, meaning if setfile A has 2.0 and setfile B has 2, these will be flagged as different.

When comparing, only the differing values are presented, while same values are hidden, which allows for a quick view. The categories and logic groups remain visible to retain the setfile structure for navigation.

The compare feature is enabled and visible in the left panel when a setfile has been loaded into the editor.

The original version remains in edit mode (unless locked), while the compare version is locked for editing, for safety.

The Setfile Advisor cannot be used during a compare operation, whilst all other functions remain enabled.
