# The Tray icon

The colour of the tray icon tells you at a glance whether Hydra is doing its job. Hover over it for a short status line, for example "Hydra Agent: Running - Active: 12345678". With several accounts it shows a count instead, such as "3 of 4 accounts active".

| Colour       | Status                          | Meaning                                                                                                                           |
| ------------ | ------------------------------- | --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| 🟢 **Green** | Running                         | Licensed, and at least one account is syncing.                                                                                    |
| 🟡 **Amber** | No account connected / Starting | Licensed, but no account has been connected yet — or the agent is in the middle of starting. This is a setup state, not an error. |
| 🔴 **Red**   | Not running / Licence problem   | Either your licence could not be validated, or every account that should be running has stopped. See Troubleshooting.             |

#### Tray menu

Right-click the icon to open the menu:

Account states you may see in the **Accounts** menu:

See Slow mode.</td></tr><tr><td><strong>Starting</strong></td><td>The sync process has been launched and is initialising.</td></tr><tr><td><strong>Stopped</strong></td><td>Not syncing. Start it from the menu when ready.</td></tr><tr><td><strong>Retrying (attempt N)</strong></td><td>The sync process exited unexpectedly and will restart automatically after a short delay.</td></tr><tr><td><strong>Stopped after repeated failures</strong></td><td>The account failed to start six times in a row and the agent has given up. Fix the cause (usually MT5 not running or not logged in), then start it manually.</td></tr><tr><td><strong>Identity error</strong></td><td>The account logged in to the terminal does not match your licence. See Troubleshooting.</td></tr><tr><td><strong>Demo account: analytics run on live accounts only</strong></td><td>The terminal is logged in to a demo or contest account. The sync process keeps running but sends nothing, because Live Analytics only covers live accounts.</td></tr></tbody></table>

A demo account counts as running, so the tray icon can be green even though nothing is being sent for that account. Check the **Accounts** menu to see each account's state.
