# Configuration Timelines

Configuration Timelines show which settings each of your live charts ran, and when. The Hydra Vision EA reports the configuration on every chart. The portal turns those reports into a timeline for each chart, so you can see when a configuration started, when it changed and what it ran.

You can keep the timeline private or publish the whole account as a read-only public page. You can then share that page by link.

### What you need before you start

| Requirement                                                               | Why                                                                                                                                            |
| ------------------------------------------------------------------------- | ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **An active Hydra Vision Subscription** | The EA must be licensed and running on the account. |
| **A live trading account registered in the portal** | Timelines are recorded for **Live** accounts only. A demo account, or an account registered under the wrong type, sends no configuration data. |
| **The Hydra Vision EA running on that account** | The EA is what reports each chart's settings. |
| **Hydra Agent installed and running on the machine that runs MetaTrader** | It delivers your EA's reports to the portal. Without it, nothing is recorded. |
| **Hydra Fingerprint enabled** | Needed only for sharing (see Sharing an account). Available on live accounts only. Request it from Hydra Vision support. |
| **A Myfxbook or FXBlue record for the account** | Needed only for sharing. Viewers check your results there. |

### Step 1: Turn on Chart Configs

Chart Configs is off by default. Until it is enabled, **your EA sends no settings to Hydra Vision at all.**

1. In the portal, open **Analytics** and select your live account.
2. Open the **Configuration** tab.
3. Read the Chart Configs terms shown on the tab.
4. Tick **I have read and agree to the Chart Configs terms above**.
5. Click **Request access**.

The tab will show the date you requested access. A Hydra Vision admin reviews every request. You do not need to do anything else while you wait.

{% hint style="info" %}
Once your request is approved, your EA picks it up at its next licence check, **within 24 hours**. You don't need to restart anything. Recording starts from that moment. Nothing from before is recorded.
{% endhint %}

While Chart Configs is off, the portal still shows that your charts are running, but it records no settings and no configurations. If Chart Configs is turned off later, recording stops at the EA's next licence check. Everything already recorded is kept.

***

### Step 2: Read your timeline

Once Chart Configs is enabled, the **Configuration** tab shows one timeline per chart on the selected account.

* **Each block is one configuration.** It starts when the chart began running those settings.
* **A block ends** when you change the settings, or when the EA is removed from the chart or the chart is closed.
* **If MetaTrader or your computer is switched off,** the block stays open. If the chart comes back within 2 days, the block simply carries on. If it doesn't report for more than 2 days, the block is left with no recorded end, and **Reporting resumed** marks where it came back.
* **A block with no end** is either still running or went silent.
* **Show the settings this configuration ran** opens the settings recorded for that configuration.

{% hint style="info" %}
A Hydra Vision update can occasionally start a new block on its own. Your settings haven't changed. This happens when an update changes the fingerprint version (for example from `hv2` to `hv3` on 8 October 2026): every Strategy Print and Tuning Print is recalculated, and prints from different versions can't be compared, so the timeline starts a new block.
{% endhint %}

#### Strategy and tuning settings

* **Strategy settings** define what your strategy is: the grid type, the volume strategy, the PCL strategy and engines, the profit mode, which entry vetoes and protections are switched on, and which sessions are traded. Each one is an on/off switch or a choice from a list. Change any of them and it's a different strategy.
* **Tuning settings** set how hard the strategy works, without changing what it is: step sizes, volumes, profit targets, thresholds, distances, indicator periods and timeframes, session start and end times, and the risk stops.
* **Each group has its own print:** the Strategy Print and the Tuning Print. The same settings always produce the same prints, so the timeline can tell when a chart truly changed configuration. A change to either group starts a new block.
* **Some settings are in neither print and are never shared, at any level:** display options, broker and account settings, your Private Key and Magic Number, and backtesting options.

#### Refreshing

New reports appear automatically. To pull the latest reports immediately, click **Refresh from the platform**. Then reopen the tab a moment later.

#### Linking a configuration to your vault

If you click a configuration that isn't linked to anything in your setfile vault, you get two options:

* **Create setfile from this run** saves that configuration as a new setfile.
* **This configuration is already in my vault** lists stored versions whose Strategy Print and Tuning Print both match this configuration. Pick the one the chart was configured from and click **This one**.

### Sharing an account

You can publish a live account as a public, read-only page and share it with anyone by link.

#### Sharing is all or nothing

Publishing an account shares **every chart on it**, running or stopped, along with every configuration those charts have run. You can't pick individual charts or hide part of the history.

The page stays current. New configurations appear on it as your EA reports them, without another approval.

#### What viewers see, and what they never see

| Shown on the public page | Never shown |
| -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | -------------------------------------------------- |
| Your publisher name | Your account number |
| How many charts are on the account | Your login or credentials |
| When each configuration started and ended | Your charts' magic numbers |
| The settings behind each configuration, at the level you choose | Your Strategy Print and Tuning Print |
| That the account is a verified live account | Trades, balances or results on Hydra Vision itself |
| Links to your Myfxbook and/or FXBlue record, and the date Hydra Vision checked they're yours | |

"Verified live account" means the data came from a funded live account. It says nothing about performance.

Your results stay on Myfxbook or FXBlue. The public page links to them, so viewers can match what ran with how it did. Hydra Vision checks that the linked record belongs to you. It does not check or vouch for the results shown there.

#### How much of each configuration to show

You choose one of two disclosure levels:

| Level                    | Viewers see                                                                |
| ------------------------ | -------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Strategy Only** | Strategy settings only. Tuning values stay private. |
| **Strategy Plus Tuning** | Strategy and tuning settings: every setting covered by either fingerprint. |

You can change the level at any time, before or after approval. The change takes effect immediately and doesn't need another approval.

#### Requesting a public link

Before you start, make sure:

* Hydra Fingerprint and Chart Configs are both enabled on your account;
* the account has reported at least one configuration;
* you have the link to this account's Myfxbook system page, its FXBlue page, or both.

Then:

1. On the **Configuration** tab, go to the **Sharing** section and click **Share this account**.
2. Read the summary of what will be published.
3. Check the **Publisher name shown on the public page**. It defaults to your first and last name, and you can change it.
4. Choose a disclosure level.
5. Paste your **Myfxbook** link, your **FXBlue** link, or both. At least one is required. A link outlined in red isn't on the right site.
6. Click **Request listing**, or click **Not now** to back out.

The Sharing section now shows **Waiting for approval**, along with a verification code in the format `HV-XXXX-XXXX`.

7. Add the code to the description of your Myfxbook system or FXBlue account. Edit the description on Myfxbook or FXBlue itself and save it.

A Hydra Vision admin then reviews the request. They open each link you gave and check that:

* the code is in the record's description;
* the record's account number and broker server match this account.

Requests that fail either check are declined. Once the account is published, you can remove the code from the description.

To withdraw the request before it is approved, click **Cancel request**.

{% hint style="info" %}
Links are fixed once you request. To change or add one, stop sharing (or cancel the request) and request again. A new request gets a new code and, once approved, a new public link.
{% endhint %}

#### Copying and sharing the link

Once approved, the Sharing section shows **This account is published** with your public link, in this format:

`https://hydravision.ai/live/XXXX-XXXX-XXXX`

Click the copy icon to copy it. You can send the link to anyone. Viewers don't need a Hydra Vision account.

{% hint style="info" %}
Published setfile configurations use the same link format, but they are a different kind of page: one locked setfile version, found by its prints. A published account shows everything the account ran over time. See Two kinds of public link.
{% endhint %}

### Stopping sharing (expiring a link)

Links do not expire on a timer. A link stays live until one of these happens:

* you click **Stop sharing** in the Sharing section;
* you delete the account from the portal.

Either way:

* **The link stops working immediately.** Anyone opening it sees *"That link does not resolve to anything published."* This is the same message shown for a link that never existed, so viewers can't tell that a page used to be there.
* **The old link can never be revived.** If you share the account again, you'll go through approval again and receive a **new** link. Anyone with the old link will need the new one. The same applies if you delete an account and add it again: it starts unshared.

{% hint style="warning" %}
Stopping sharing removes the public page. It can't recall anything a viewer has already seen, saved or screenshotted while the page was live.
{% endhint %}

### FAQ

**I requested Chart Configs but my timeline is empty.** Your EA picks up the approval within 24 hours, and recording starts from then. Check the following:

* the request was approved more than 24 hours ago;
* the EA is running on a **Live** account registered in the portal;
* Hydra Agent is running on the same computer or VPS as MetaTrader;
* your licence is active.

Then click **Refresh from the platform**.

**The Share this account button isn't showing.** Sharing needs both Hydra Fingerprint and Chart Configs enabled, and the account must be a live account. Request Hydra Fingerprint from Hydra Vision support.

**Request listing doesn't do anything.** Make sure at least one link is a Myfxbook or FXBlue page for this account, not the site's home page, and that the publisher name isn't empty.

**My listing request was declined.** Check the following, then request again:

* the account has at least one recorded configuration;
* the verification code was in your Myfxbook or FXBlue description when we checked;
* the linked record is for this account and broker server.

**Why do I need a Myfxbook or FXBlue link?** The public page shows what your account ran, not how it did. The linked record lets viewers see results from an independent source, and the code shows them the record is really yours.

**Can I share just one chart?** No. Publishing always covers the whole account. To share a single strategy, run it on its own live account.

**Can I change what's shown after publishing?** Yes. You can change the disclosure level at any time, and it applies immediately. You can also change your publisher name: stop sharing, then request a new listing. This gives you a new link.

**Does the public page show my profits?** Not directly. It shows configurations and settings only. Results are on the Myfxbook or FXBlue record it links to.
