# The Agents page

See every VPS, terminal and chart running Hydra Vision, get told when something is wrong, and act on it from one page

### Who this page is for

You run Hydra Vision on one or more VPSs and want to know, without logging in to them, that everything is running and doing what it should. When something does need you, you want to see why and fix it from the portal.

The **Agents** page does three things:

1. **See:** every VPS running Hydra Agent, each MetaTrader terminal on it, and each Hydra Vision chart, with what it is doing right now.
2. **Verify:** Hydra Agent checks on its own that what the EA says matches what MetaTrader shows, and tells you when it doesn't.
3. **Act:** fetch a log, send a command to a chart, close a grid, or restart Hydra Agent, with a record of everything that was done.

If you only read one section, read **Reading the page in one minute**.

### Before you start

| You need | Why |
| ---------------------------------------------------------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Hydra Agent** on the VPS, signed in with your account | Everything on the page comes from Hydra Agent. It updates itself; version **3.0.24** or later has every feature below. |
| A **Subscription** | Hydra Agent and the Agents page are part of the Subscription. |
| **Hydra Vision** from the 22 October 2026 build or later on each chart | Charts report their live status (positions, gates, saved state, whether the market is open) from this build. An older build still shows on the page, but without the live details. |
| **Remote commands** enabled on your licence | Needed for **Controls** (commands and closes). Request access on the Agents page and accept the terms shown; this switches remote commands on for your licence. Until then the EA ignores commands from the portal. |

Only **real** accounts appear. Hydra Agent sends nothing for demo or contest accounts.

### Reading the page in one minute

The top line counts your VPSs, how many are reporting, and how many need attention.

Each **VPS** has a card with a coloured label:

| Label | What it means |
| --------------------------- | --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Reporting** (green) | Hydra Agent is running and every chart on it is reporting normally. |
| **Needs attention** (amber) | Everything is running, but something deserves a look: AutoTrading is off, the terminal isn't connected to the broker, an EA warning in the last hour, or a check found something minor. The reason is written under the VPS name. |
| **Needs attention** (red) | Hydra Agent is running, but a chart has stopped reporting, or a check found something that needs action now. |
| **Not reporting** (red) | Hydra Agent itself has stopped reporting for that VPS. |
| **Not in use** (grey) | The account now reports from another VPS. This card is the old one and is never alerted on. |

Problems are listed first. Under the VPS name you can read **why** in plain words, for example *"AutoTrading is switched off in the MetaTrader terminal for account 12345678, so no EA on it can trade."*

### What each card shows

**The VPS:** its name, the Hydra Agent version, how long Windows has been up, and when Hydra Agent last reported.

**Each account (terminal) on it:**

| Item | Meaning |
| ---------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Terminal | **Connected** or **Not connected** to your broker. |
| AutoTrading | **On** or **Off** in MetaTrader. With it off, no EA in that terminal can trade. If "Disable algorithmic trading via external Python API" is ticked in MetaTrader, Hydra Agent can't read it, so the page uses what your Hydra Vision charts report; with no chart reporting it shows **—**. |
| EA trading (broker) | Whether your broker allows EAs on the account. |
| MetaTrader build, Ping | The terminal's build and its ping to the broker. |
| Agent report | When Hydra Agent last reported for this account. |

**Each chart:** symbol, timeframe and magic number, its **Mode**, its **Strategy Print**, the EA version, and when it last reported.

| Mode | Meaning |
| --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Running** | Trading normally. |
| **Suspended** | No new grids. Open grids are still managed. |
| **Winding down** | Finishing its open grids, then it will suspend. |
| **New entries off** / **Buy side off** / **Sell side off** / **Buy and Sell off** | The matching restriction is on. |
| **Safety stop** | A licence, risk or technical stop is holding the chart. Open grids are managed to completion; nothing new opens. |
| **Not reporting** | The chart hasn't reported for 5 minutes. MetaTrader may have closed, or the EA has stopped. |
| **Removed** | The EA was taken off the chart. Removed charts are hidden and counted under the table. |

Under each running chart you see its **live lines**, updated within about 20 seconds:

* **Buy** and **Sell**: open positions, lots, floating profit or loss, the anchor price, and where the next level would open. *Hunter trailing* when Hunter has a position on a trailing stop.
* **Anything holding it back**, in plain words: the spread above your tolerance, outside your trading sessions, the market closed for the symbol, winding down, AutoTrading off, or the terminal not connected.
* **The EA's last warning**, if it raised one in the last hour.

### Alerts you'll receive

You don't need to keep the page open. These go to your notifications, through the same channels as your other Hydra Vision alerts:

| Alert | When |
| ----------------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Hydra Agent not reporting** | Hydra Agent has been silent for 5 minutes past its normal report (about 6 to 8 minutes after it stops). |
| **Hydra Agent stopped** | Hydra Agent was stopped and hasn't come back for 5 minutes. |
| **Chart not reporting** | A chart's EA hasn't reported for 5 minutes, and you didn't remove it. Several charts on one terminal going down together give **one** alert listing them all. |
| **Recovered** | Once, when Hydra Agent or the charts report again. |
| **A check needs action** | A red check result (see below). |

A quick restart, such as a VPS reboot that is back within 5 minutes, sends nothing. A closed market doesn't count as silence: the EA keeps reporting while the market is shut.

### What Hydra Agent checks for you

Every 2 minutes the platform compares what each chart reports with what MetaTrader and Hydra Agent see. A result shows on the VPS card, and red results also send an alert. A check has to hold for a short while before it shows, so a passing blip never appears.

| Check | Level | What it means and what to do |
| -------------------------------------- | ----- | -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Open positions with no grid record** | Red | The chart has positions open on a side but no grid recorded for them, so they are not being managed as a grid. Hydra Vision rebuilds the record from the oldest position by itself; if this stays, contact support. |
| **Anchor price not recorded** | Red | A grid is recorded but its first position's price is missing, so its volume and spacing are measured from 0. Hydra Vision repairs it from the open position; if it stays, contact support. |
| **Tracking start looks wrong** | Amber | Gain and drawdown are measured from a start date earlier than the chart's first report, which usually means it was set from out-of-date terminal data. If your gain or drawdown figures look wrong, contact support. |
| **Tracking start not confirmed** | Amber | The chart hasn't received a price since it started, so its starting balance isn't set yet. Usually the terminal isn't connected. |
| **Command not answered** | Amber | A command sent to the chart wasn't answered while Hydra Agent was running. Check the chart in MetaTrader. |
| **VPS clock is off** | Amber | The VPS clock is more than 60 seconds out, so times in your reports are out by the same amount. Turn on automatic time sync in Windows. |
| **Hydra Agent out of date** | Amber | Hydra Agent is older than the minimum supported version. It updates itself when it next checks. |

### Saved state: what a restart would bring back

Click **Saved state** under a chart to see what Hydra Vision would restore if MetaTrader or the VPS restarted **now**. It is read from what is actually saved on the VPS, not from what the chart is doing, so a problem shows up before a restart instead of after one.

* **Buy / Sell:** the saved grid (anchor price, ticket, time and number of fills), or *nothing saved (no grid)*.
* **Account tracking:** when gain and drawdown are measured from, and the starting balance.
* **Analytics:** when the lifetime analytics file was last saved, and whether a restart would restore it.

Lines in amber need a look:

| Amber line | Meaning |

### Logs

Click **Logs** on an account to fetch a log from the VPS without logging in to it.

1. Choose the **Log**:
   * **Hydra Vision log (MetaTrader Experts tab):** everything the EA wrote.
   * **MetaTrader Journal:** connection, trades and terminal messages.
   * **Hydra Agent log:** what Hydra Agent did.
2. Choose the **Day** (the VPS's own date), the **Chart** (for MetaTrader logs), and how many **Lines** (the newest 200, 1000 or 5000).
3. Tick **Warnings and errors only** to see just the lines that matter.
4. Click **Get log**. Hydra Agent picks the request up within about 20 seconds and sends the extract. Use **Copy** or **Download** to keep it.

{% hint style="info" %}
A log only leaves your VPS when you ask for it. Access keys and tokens are hidden in every line before it is sent, and the text is deleted from our servers 30 minutes later. A record that the log was fetched stays in **Activity**.
{% endhint %}

### Controls: commands and closes

Click **Controls** under a running chart. The buttons follow the chart's current state, so you only see what makes sense, for example **Resume** on a suspended chart.

Only you can send a command, and your own EA in your own MetaTrader terminal carries it out. Hydra Agent and the portal never trade on your behalf.

| Group | Buttons | What happens |
| ----------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------- | ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Run** | **Suspend** / **Resume** | No new grids, or back to normal. Open grids are always managed. |
| | **Wind down** / **Cancel wind-down** | Finish the open grids, then suspend. Asks you to confirm. |
| **Entries** | **Pause new levels** / **Allow new levels** | Open grids stop adding levels (closes still run). |
| | **Stop new Buy grids** / **Allow Buy grids**, and the same for Sell | No new grids on that side. |
| **Close** | **Close Buy grid**, **Close Sell grid** | Closes every position on that side at market. |
| | **Close all and suspend** | Closes both sides, then suspends the chart so nothing reopens until you resume it. |

These are the same commands as the EA's **Command** input (see Chart Commands); the most recent one wins, wherever it came from. The command goes to Hydra Agent, which hands it to the EA on that chart. The EA decides and answers. Under the buttons you see *sent, waiting for Hydra Vision…* and then *done*, or why it wasn't carried out.

#### Closing a grid: the two steps

A close trades at market, so it always asks you to confirm, and shows exactly what you are closing:

> **Close Buy grid on GBPUSD (magic 1)?** This closes 2 Buy positions, 0.10 lots, floating −12.40 at market. The result can differ from the floating shown, which is from 12 s ago. Hydra Vision has 90 seconds to act on it; after that the command lapses.

* If a level opens or a position closes between you reading this and confirming, the close is **not** sent. The page says *The chart has changed since you looked*, shows the new numbers and asks again.
* A close that can't reach the EA within 90 seconds lapses, so it never closes long after the price you saw.
* What you confirmed is kept with the command in **Activity**.

#### When a button is unavailable

| You see | Why |
| ---------------------------------------------------------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Close buttons greyed, *The market is closed for GBPUSD* | The broker's market is shut, so the order would fail. Commands that don't trade still work. |
| Close buttons greyed, *The spread (135) is above the tolerance of 20* | Closing now would pay that spread. Try again once it is back to normal. Hydra Vision pauses its own partial closes then too. |
| *A safety stop is holding this chart* | A licence, risk or technical stop is active. It can't be resumed or closed from here until that is resolved. |
| *Controls: request access to remote commands…* instead of **Controls** | Remote commands aren't switched on for your licence yet. Request access on the Agents page and accept the terms; Controls appear within a minute. |
| No **Controls** link | The chart isn't reporting right now, it was removed, or you have a view-only page. |
| *The last command to this chart has not finished yet* | One command at a time per chart. Wait for the answer. |

Your trading sessions don't block a close. They only stop new grids opening.

### Hydra Agent actions

Next to each account you'll find two buttons:

* **Re-sync history:** Hydra Agent sends your full deal history and open positions again straight away. Use it if a deal looks missing from your analytics.
* **Restart Hydra Agent:** stops Hydra Agent for that account and starts it again within a few seconds. It asks you to confirm. MetaTrader and Hydra Vision keep trading; only the reporting pauses. A restart doesn't trigger a "not reporting" alert.

***

### Activity

**Activity** on each account lists the last 30 days of everything sent to it, newest first:

* **Commands,** each with its outcome: **Done**, **Waiting**, or why it wasn't carried out. A confirmed close shows what you confirmed against. Only you can send commands.
* **Log requests,** with who asked (**You**, or **Hydra support** while you have given it access) and how many lines were sent.
* **Hydra Agent actions,** with their result, for example *5 deal(s) re-sent*.

Nothing happens to your charts from the portal without appearing here.

### Hydra support access

If you raise a support ticket and Hydra support needs your logs to look into it, you can let support see this page and fetch logs while they work on it. Nobody at Hydra can see your Agents page or fetch your logs unless you do this.

1. Open a support ticket from **Dashboard > Tickets** (see [Support tickets](/products/support/support-tickets.md)).
2. On the Agents page, click **Give support access…**, choose the ticket and click **Give support access**.
3. Read what support will be able to do and click **Give access**.

While support has access:

* Support can see everything on this page, including your positions and floating profit or loss, and fetch logs from your VPS.
* Support **can't** send commands, close positions or restart Hydra Agent.
* The banner at the top of the page shows which ticket it is for and until when.
* Logs that support fetches show in **Activity** as **Hydra support**.

Access ends at the first of these:

* support closes it once they have what they need;
* you click **Revoke access**;
* the ticket is closed;
* 7 days pass.

{% hint style="info" %}
You don't have to give access at all. You can fetch the logs yourself with **Logs**, tick **Warnings and errors only**, and copy the lines support needs into a reply on your ticket. See [Support tickets](/products/support/support-tickets.md).
{% endhint %}

### View-only access

The Agents page has a **view-only** mode. Someone with view-only access sees everything above and can fetch logs, but can't send commands, closes or Hydra Agent actions, and their page says *View only*. Logs they fetch show in your Activity.

### Good to know

* **What is sent:** while a chart runs, the EA writes a small status file every 15 seconds and Hydra Agent uploads it when something changes, or once a minute. It contains no passwords or keys. Logs are only sent when you ask.
* **More than one VPS:** every VPS running Hydra Agent for your accounts shows on the same page.
* **Moving to a new VPS:** the old VPS shows as **Not in use** once the account reports from the new one.

### Troubleshooting FAQ

**A VPS card says *****Update Hydra Agent to 3.0.21 or later to see this VPS's details*****.** Hydra Agent updates itself within a day; restart it from the tray to update now.

**A chart says *****Update Hydra Vision to see what it has saved on this chart*****.** The chart runs a Hydra Vision build from before 22 October 2026. Attach the current build.

**A chart shows *****Not reporting***** but MetaTrader is open.** Check that the EA is still on the chart and AutoTrading is on, then open **Logs** for that account and look at the Hydra Vision log.

**I sent a command and it says *****not carried out (Hydra Vision did not answer in time)*****.** The chart didn't pick it up before it lapsed. Usually MetaTrader was busy or disconnected. Check the chart, then send it again.

**A log request says *****Hydra Agent did not answer within 10 minutes*****.** Hydra Agent is stopped on that VPS, or older than 3.0.23.
