# Setfile configuration methods

The EA can be configured via Online Setfile Builder (OSB) on the customer portal, or using the MT5 Inputs tab

For new customers we highly recommend using OSB. With Wizard guided assistance, inline context help, built-in rules and parameter assistance, getting a handle on how to configure different strategies is more intuitive.

Once you have a base collection of setfiles, and you understand the inputs, tweaking can be easier and faster directly in MT5. Once you have a setfile that you want to retain, import it back into OSB where you can annotate, categorise, version control and better manage the lifecycle.

Using OSB is a key part of becoming a disciplined auto trader, to ensure every strategy deployed to a live MT5 account has a secured locked down setfile that can be referenced by future analysis work. EA performance is more than profits and losses. It's about understanding the configuration and journey the EA has taken to achieve these.
