# Hydra Vision v6.5 — October updates

Changes made after launch (4 to 14 October 2026), released 15 October 2026. The EA still shows version 6.5.

#### New

* **Hydra Replay (beta)** *(when enabled on your account)*: the new **Export Hydra Replay file (beta)** setting writes one replay file at the end of each backtest for the Hydra Replay player in the portal. It works in the Strategy Tester only, not in optimisation runs.
* **Market regime timeline in replay files:** each replay file records when a new buy grid, a new sell grid, or neither could open, and when the market broke out of its range. A row is written at every change, so the timeline lines up with the grids that opened.
* **Replay prices match your account:** replay files carry your account currency and the symbol's tick values, so the player shows floating profit exactly.
* **Breakout settings:** three new settings control how an open grid adds positions when the market breaks out of its Market Context range. All are off by default, so nothing changes unless you turn them on.
  * **Breakout Lag:** the range ignores the last N days. Because it changes the Market Context range, it also affects when new grids can open.
  * **Breakout Re-entries:** Off, Base lot, Frontier lot or Freeze. Needs Breakout Lag above 0.
  * **Breakout Ease:** releases the breakout over N days instead of waiting for price to return inside the range.
* **Backtest report 3.2 and 3.3:** the report now records the EA build, which calculation versions it used (so the portal can warn you when you compare runs that were calculated differently), each profit mechanism's contribution in one list, every anchor veto count, and breakout totals.

#### Changed

* **Settings fingerprint version hv3 (8 October):** the Breakout settings are now part of the prints, so every Strategy Print and Tuning Print changed. Prints from before and after the change can't be compared, and a chart's Configuration Timeline can start a new block when it moves to hv3.
* **Licences are Trial and Fusion only:** every licence now gets the full Strategy Tester Journal summary, the backtest report export and every GridSense panel tab.
* **Extreme DD Veto** now only stops new grids from opening. Grids that are already open keep re-entering. It reads the account's open drawdown (open positions on every symbol, as a % of balance), so closed losses no longer count towards it.
* **Bounce de-risking:** with the PCL De-Risk engine on, a Bounce grid in the Red zone is now eligible for de-risking, as intended. Before, Bounce only de-risked on a volume blowout.
* **Safety: min spacing (x Step Size)** default changed from 0.25 to 1.0, so ATR spacing is never tighter than your step size unless you set a lower value.
* **Re-Entry Signal Confirmation presets recalibrated:** every zone in Lenient, Balanced and Strict now has a confirmation window, so no preset needs signals to arrive on the same tick. Before, Strict's Red zone almost never confirmed.
* **Maximum missing steps gap** now counts steps in the spacing the grid is actually using. With ATR spacing, grids could be closed before they had a chance to add. Fixed Step grids behave as before.
* **Drawdown on the GridSense panel** now has two sections: Symbol drawdown (this EA on this symbol, as a % of starting balance) and Account drawdown (as a % of its peak), each with equity and balance, now and maximum. The backtest report's Hydra drawdown uses the symbol figure.
* **Backtest report file names** now end in a run number (`_1`, `_2`, …), so re-running the same test never overwrites an earlier report.
* **EA inputs reorganised:** re-entry settings are grouped by what they apply to, Max Market Density % sits with the Anchor Regime settings, the anchor vetoes are numbered 1 to 4, and several regime labels now say what they drive. What each setting does is unchanged.
* **Journal and settings text:** the Strategy Tester Journal summary shows your account currency instead of USD and the portal names of the risk stops. The Trial message, the report version and the zone and Level 3 labels in the MT5 settings dialog now match the help. Missing figures in one report warning are fixed.
* **Trailing-stop lines** are drawn in aquamarine, in front of the price chart.
* **EA file renamed** from "Hydra Vision v6.5 - Main New" to "Hydra Vision v6.5". A chart still running the old file keeps using the old version until the EA is attached again from the new file.

#### Fixed

* **SmartEntry:**
  * A confirmed anchor MA cross is now kept until a grid actually opens. Before, it was lost if a veto or a failed order stopped that entry.
  * After a grid closes, Market Context is re-measured straight away. Before, no new grid could open until its next 15-minute refresh.
  * Each re-entry now needs a signal fired since the last position. Before, one signal could approve several re-entries, or carry over into the next grid.
  * Anchor Waterfall Protection now checks the full number of Lookback Bars (it was one bar short).
  * Signal weights of 0 only stop the EA from starting in Custom confirmation. The presets no longer refuse to start.
  * Static Zone positions are placed on the fixed step even with ATR spacing, and are no longer held back by Max Market Density %.
  * SmartEntry's indicators no longer appear on the visual tester chart.
* **Maximum positions** no longer lets one extra position open. PCL injections, which replace positions just closed, are not affected.
* **Anchor-only rate** on the GridSense panel could read over 100%. Each grid is now counted once, when it closes. Grids that were open across a terminal restart are now included in lifetime statistics when they close.
* **GridSense panel current-grid values** read 0 or "—" when no grid is open, instead of showing the last grid's values.
* **Balance drawdown** could read zero if the EA started before the terminal had connected. It now waits for a real balance and repairs a zero starting point.
* **GridSense profit statistics** (net profit, profit factor, win rate and return per lot) now include the commission paid when each position opened. Before, they were slightly overstated.
* **Grid costs:** closing costs that arrive just after a grid resets are now booked to that grid, not the next one.
* **Backtest report equity check:** the equity-low warning no longer appears on almost every report. It now warns only when the EA's lowest equity is higher than MetaTrader's, or more than 2% lower.
* **Warn at % of max loss:** after a warning, new grids on the pair stayed suspended until the EA was restarted, even once the warned grid had closed. New grids now resume as soon as the warned grid closes, unless the other side is still warned or a graceful stop is in place.
* **Risk Recovery %** now works. Before, no grid ever counted as recovering, so a grid that had already come down from its peak could still be de-risked. Now a grid whose position count has fallen at least this % from its peak is not de-risked (a volume blowout still de-risks). 0 turns the check off. This changes results for the same setfile, although its prints are unchanged.
* **Bounce thresholds:** a value of 0 in Max position count or Max frontier volume stopped a Bounce grid ever handing over to trailing. 0 now means no limit for that threshold, as it already did for Multi Trail. If you run Bounce with one threshold at 0, grids will now hand over to trailing.
* **Asset Profiler v1.23:** the practical step range is now also given as the **Minimum Step Size** value to enter, in the EA's own unit for the asset. On indices and crypto the old figure was 100 times too large. Currency pairs a broker lists with a small contract are now profiled as forex, and profiles are saved in a folder per account. See Ticks, pips and price.

### After 15 October

* **Supported symbols are named.** Hydra Vision works out an asset's class, and so the unit its step settings are read in, from the symbol name. It now recognises many more index, commodity and crypto names, including Brent as XBR/XTI and the US Dollar index (unit 0.01). A symbol it can't name is no longer classed by its price. Instead, Hydra Vision refuses to start on it and asks you to contact support so it can be added. Before, a symbol trading near 100 could change unit 100 times between restarts.
* **A grid keeps its step unit** across a restart, so its spacing can never change mid-grid.
* **Asset Profiler v1.24** uses exactly the same rules as Hydra Vision and says when a symbol isn't supported.
* **Two charts on one symbol:** saved grid state and profit tracking now belong to the chart's symbol + *Magic Number* + account. Two charts on the same symbol with different magic numbers keep separate grids across restarts, and a chart no longer takes on another chart's magic number. A second chart with the same symbol and magic number refuses to start. Saved state from earlier versions moves across automatically on the first start. See Persistence and restarts.
* **Quieter journal:** SmartEntry's Market Context and MA cross lines are written when they change, not on every tick, and short spread spikes around the daily rollover are counted instead of listed one by one.
* **Hydra Replay grid lines:** replay files now record each grid as it changes, so the player's **Show grid levels** and **Show grid VWAP** switches appear. They draw where each open grid would add its next level and its average price, for buy and sell grids at the same time, and follow the playhead during a replay. Needs Hydra Replay player v2.0. See Hydra Replay Made Simple.
* **Settings fingerprint version hv4:** three Tuning settings that had no effect are removed: Zone 5 Start (Zone 5 is everything beyond Zone 4), and Level 3 Grid Size Scaling and Level 3 Volume Threshold (Level 3 is everything beyond Level 2). Because the Tuning Print covers fewer settings, every Tuning Print changes, and prints from before and after the change can't be compared. A chart's Configuration Timeline can start a new block when it moves to hv4. Commission Type (the EA measures your commission) and the OSB setfile ID (backtests are matched by their prints) are removed as well; neither was in a print.
* **Volume Increment works again:** Incremental and Power volume grids add your *Volume Increment* at each step. Before, they added the Starting Volume instead, so the setting had no effect. With Volume Increment at 0 they still add the Starting Volume.
* **Breakout Lag needs Breakout Re-entries:** with Breakout Re-entries Off, Breakout Lag is now ignored and the Market Context range includes today, as the help describes. Before, a lag left in a setfile still shifted the range, and with it when new grids could open, although the portal hides the setting. The Experts journal notes when a lag is ignored. Breakout Re-entries still needs Breakout Lag above 0.
* **New Position on PCL Close on Dynamic grids only:** it no longer opens a position after a PCL close on a step grid, where the portal hides the setting.
* **Symbol Suffix and Broker GMT Offset removed:** neither setting had any effect, and neither was in a print, so no Strategy Print or Tuning Print changes. Trading Sessions keep measuring your broker's offset from GMT themselves.
* **Tester Modelling Mode** (a label in the backtest report) now defaults to *Every tick based on real ticks*.
* **Step with Increasing / Decreasing distance:** the gap now changes by *Step +/- per Position* once for each new position, as described. Before, it changed by twice that amount, so these grids reached Maximum Step or Minimum Step in half the positions.
* **Breakout Ease must be less than Breakout Lag** while Breakout Re-entries is on. The portal checks this when you save a setfile, and the EA checks it when it starts, so a setfile edited in MT5 can't get round it.
* **Martingale on Dynamic grids is refused again:** the EA will not start with Martingale volume on a Dynamic grid, a Martingale Multiplier above 2, or a Minimal profit above 100% of the step. These checks were in earlier versions and had been lost; the portal now refuses Martingale on a Dynamic grid too.
* **Deep grids no longer stop the EA:** with more than about 20 positions on one side of a grid, PCL could hit an internal limit and MetaTrader removed the EA from the chart, leaving the grid unmanaged. PCL now handles any number of positions.
* **Bounce keeps its anchor:** a Bounce grid no longer closes its first position early when the Bounce close is out of reach. The anchor now stays until one of the Bounce thresholds is breached.
* **Turn off Dynamic PCL runs Whole Grid only:** this strategy now ignores Dynamic PCL Enabled and closes the grid only through Whole Grid PCL, like a standard grid system. A setfile with this strategy and Whole Grid PCL off is refused.
* **Hunter, Multi Trail and Bounce need Dynamic PCL:** these strategies choose their closes with Dynamic PCL, so a setfile using one of them with Dynamic PCL Enabled off is now refused.
* **Hunter results are recorded:** a grid that ended with its Hunter position closing on the trailing stop now records its result.
* **Grids restore correctly after a restart:** the EA now recognises the first position of an open grid after a terminal or VPS restart.
* **Bounce recognises its anchor reliably:** with Fixed vol to Start or Static positions, a later position at Starting Volume is no longer mistaken for the anchor. Starting Volumes such as 0.35 also work correctly now.
* **Multi Trail hand-off:** the grid hands off to trailing when it is within Max position count positions OR that many steps of distance, and the frontier is at or below Max frontier volume.
* **Injection is Hunter only:** Inject on Grid Close is ignored on any other strategy.
* **Dynamic PCL counts the full commission:** Dynamic PCL closes now include the exit commission, so they reach the full profit target.
* **Breakouts end cleanly at the range edge:** a breakout now ends only once price is back past the level it broke by a tenth of your *Minimum Step Size* (and never less than the spread). Before, price hovering right at the edge of the range ended and restarted the breakout tick by tick, so Freeze could lift between ticks, Breakout Ease kept starting again, and the backtest report's breakout count depended on how often the grid checked rather than on the market. On one GBPUSD test, down-breaks fell from 201 to 47. Freeze now holds a few ticks longer at the edge, so results can move slightly for the same setfile. The Experts journal shows the margin each breakout used.
* **Grid depth means one thing everywhere:** each grid's depth is now the most positions it held at once, in backtests and live. Before, a backtest grid's depth was how many positions it held at its worst drawdown, which reads low, and a live grid reported the deepest grid so far rather than its own depth. The backtest report (version 3.4) adds the most positions any grid held at once, and the portal's **Deepest grid** now shows that figure. A new **Most positions a grid opened** shows the most positions a grid opened over its life: because PCL closes positions while a grid keeps adding, it can be well above the deepest grid. Backtests from earlier EA builds show a note that their per-grid depth reads low; re-run them to see the new figures.
* **Sharpe ratio colours follow MetaTrader:** the portal now colours a backtest's Sharpe ratio as MetaQuotes describes it: red below 0, amber from 0 to 1, green from 1. Before, amber started at 0.5.

### 18 to 22 October

* **Inject on Grid Close works again:** an injection after a profitable grid close was almost always held back by Max Market Density %, which still read the density of the grid that had just closed. Injections are now exempt from it, as they already were from Maximum positions. When an injection isn't placed, the Experts journal says why.
* **Backtests send no notifications:** a Strategy Tester run no longer writes notification files, so backtest risk warnings can't reach your live dashboard.
* **Account tracking starts on a real price:** a new tracking start now waits for the first live price before it is saved, so it can't be taken from the terminal's out-of-date figures before it has connected. Account Gain now leaves out deposits and withdrawals made since tracking started.
* **Anchors whose order confirms late:** some brokers confirm a market order a moment before the trade itself appears. Hydra Vision treated that as a failed order, so the grid's first position was never recorded. It now waits for the trade, and takes the anchor's price from it.
* **Open positions with no grid record are adopted:** if a side has open positions but no grid recorded for them, Hydra Vision rebuilds the grid from the oldest position (its price, time and grid) and manages it as normal. A grid saved without its anchor price is repaired from the open position the same way.
* **Live grid closes reach your History:** on live accounts the summary of each closed grid was not being sent, so closed grids were missing from History. They are sent again.
* **Removing the EA before the first grid closes** no longer stops it with an error, which used to skip its clean-up on the chart.
* **Live chart status for the Agents page:** each chart writes a small status file every 15 seconds (positions, lots, floating, gates, the last warning, what it has saved, and whether the market is open for the symbol), which Hydra Agent shows on the Agents page. See The Agents page.

### 28 October

* **Open grids are never abandoned when your licence is refused.** If the licence server refuses this account, for example because the token is wrong or has been replaced, the account has been removed from your licence, or this EA version is no longer supported, Hydra Vision now enters Graceful Stop on any chart with open positions. It manages those positions to completion, with your PCL, trailing and stop-loss settings, and opens no new grids. Before, it removed itself from the chart at start-up, leaving the grid unmanaged. With no positions open it still removes itself. If you fix the cause on your dashboard (for example, add the account back), it checks again every hour and resumes trading on its own.
* **Graceful Stop tells you why.** When Graceful Stop starts, the message now explains the reason and what happens to your open positions. It appears in the MetaTrader Alerts window, so it doesn't hold up the EA, or in a pop-up if the EA is about to remove itself. Before, it only said to see the journal.
* **The "unable to contact the licensing server" alert** now appears only when the server really can't be reached, and shows the error code to quote to support.
